I acted for Bracknell Borough Council as their planning witness at a 3 week public inquiry (in December) against a scheme for up to 350 residential dwellings, land for a one-form entry primary school, a medical centre including pharmacy (1,200 sq m), a sports pavilion (140 sq m), open space, landscaping, Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) and drainage on land to the south of Foxley Lane, Binfield.
I drafted a 10,000 word Proof of Evidence, attended meetings with the barrister, attended the site visits and gave evidence at the Inquiry. The Inspector dismissed the scheme due to the impact the development would have upon the landscape and due to its unsustainable location. A great decision for the borough.

I contacted the Council’s policy department and advised on how best to promote the home owner’s land to be included within the Local Plan for future development of up to 50 houses in the future. I advised on the completion of the necessary form.

I was the expert witness on planning matters in respect of a Public Inquiry for a scheme comprising 450 houses, school, community centre and open space. I represented Basingstoke and Deane against David Wilson Homes for the development of a greenfield site in the countryside, drafted the proof of evidence, Statement of Common Ground, a rebuttal proof and liaised with the team over the 5 month period leading up to the Inquiry.
Decision given by the Secretary of State to give planning permission on the basis that the Council did not have a 5 year housing supply.
