The scheme involved: Demolition of existing two-storey rear extension and construction of single-storey and first floor rear extensions and new bay window, extension of roof and raising ridge by 20cm, installation of rooflights, replacement windows, demolition and part replacement of existing garage and demolition of front boundary wall/fence and replacement with new boundary wall.

Successful application for house rebuild behind front facade

We submitted two applications for this property near Clapham Common in Wandsworth – one for full planning permission and one for a permitted development application. Both were granted. The client then wanted to knock down the whole house but retain the façade so we submitted a further application for this proposal, following a positive pre-application submission.

Fiona helped us to get full approval for plans to carry out an extensive refurb of our conservation-area property, which included front, rear and side extensions. We appointed Fiona on the recommendation of our architect, after we received advice at pre-planning stage that permission would not be granted on a number of grounds. Fiona provided extremely efficient support, advising us (time poor and completely new to the planning process) on the risks and merits of different approaches to our appeal - low versus higher risk design options.
