Planning appeal for development of 2 dwelling houses in Fetcham

The designers of this scheme – to demolish the existing dwelling and re-build 2 on the plot – approached us to support the pre-application submission. The scheme was amended and we submitted the planning application with a supporting statement.  The Council did not support the provision of the new dwelling at the end of the garden. However, we have submitted an appeal against the decision.

Pending decision.

Planning appeal for roof extension above a shop in Ashstead

I was approached by the owners of the flat above a shop who had applied for permission for a roof extension to accommodate a new flat. However, after several months the application still remained to be determined.  I advised to appeal against non-determination and duly submitted the appeal following a site visit and drafting the appeal statement.  Pending decision.

Two storey side and rear extension to detached dwelling

We were approached by the owners of a bungalow who had had planning permission refused for a part two storey part single extension.  We advised on a re-design and supported the planning application with a full planning statement. We contacted the local ward Councillor who had previously objected and advised neighbours to support the application.

Decision pending

Appeal – two storey side extension and rear extension in Twickenham

I attended a site meeting and drafted the appeal statement following the refusal of planning permission for a two storey side extension and rear extension.  I completed the forms and submitted the appeal for the owner of the house. Although the appeal was dismissed we successfully argued that the gap would not be blocked and therefore the principle of a two storey side extension was acceptable.  The only matters of concern were related to the design of the front porch and rear roof section of the side extension. These are to be amended and a new application is to be submitted.

Appeal submitted against a Lawful Development Certificate, Bletchingley

I was approached by a home owner following refusal of consent for a two storey rear extension to a detached dwelling in the Green Belt. This was a very technical issue on whether the extension could be interpreted as permitted development. The appeal was dismissed as the 30cm rear gable was considered as a side elevation.

Planning appeal for new dwellinghouse in Walthamstow – Success

The owner of the property submitted a further application which the Council refused on 3 grounds  – design, lack of cycle space and lack of financial contribution towards trees. We submitted another appeal and applied for an award of costs against the Council.  We were successful on all grounds with planning permission being approved for the new 3 bedroom dwelling and the Inspector agreeing with us that the Council had been unreasonable and awarded full costs relating to two of the reasons for refusal.  A great result.

Enforcement appeal and pre-application advice to a Children’s Day Nursery in Hampton

Cameron Jones Planning was instructed following the issuing of an Enforcement Notice and the failure by the previous planning consultant to advise successfully.  Undertook a site visit, liaised with the architect and submitted the appeal on grounds A, B, F and G.  Also advised that pre-application advice was necessary to engage with the Council on a future design which would be more in keeping with the locally listed building.

Success – amendment to planning conditions granted to a Children’s Day Nursery in Twickenham

A Children’s Day Nursery in Twickenham had been approved with 3 restrictive conditions tying it a personal consent and to a particular name.  I wrote the planning statement to justify why the conditions should be removed and consent was duly granted.
